Category Manager

Tamworth 1 day per week

Due to a number of internal promotions into European positions, we are now looking for a Category Manager for our tools, accessories and retail products. This is a key position within the business aimed at growing the sales and profit margins. You will be responsible for managing sales across both B2C and B2B, supporting new programmes, improving existing programmes, securing the best supplies and negotiating the best value deal for goods and services at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and delivering a rolling three year business plan for each of the categories, Trade, Key Accounts and Retail
  • Building a detailed sales and marketing plan in order to deliver on budget
  • Supplier management and delivering strategic local partnerships
  • Preparing and holding business reviews with suppliers to review performance, future opportunities and agreeing KPI and SLAs
  • Creating and managing development plans for all direct reports
  • Sharing accountability for stock and availability with colleagues from Supply Chain

Experience and Skills Needed

  • Experience in category management
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organisation
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Sales and marketing experience
  • Ideally experienced within the automotive industry
  • Financial analysis, product/project management, marketing, business development or Supply Chain experience would be desirable
