An opportunity has arisen for a pragmatic HR professional to join a rapidly expanding business and friendly HR team. Reporting into the Head of Central HR, this role will be a true partnering position providing generalist HR support to all levels across two logistics sites. The business is currently undergoing a cultural change program, and the successful candidate will have experience of influencing and implementing change to improve the colleague experience.

The position will be home based with occasional travel to the Head Office which is based in Tamworth (approx. twice per month). The successful candidate will need to have experience of working in an Operational role (Logistics or Manufacturing) in a fast paced environment.

The role is to cover a period of maternity leave, for a minimum of 9 months and is due to commence in August 2021.

Specific Duties

  • Take full ownership and partnership of all HR matters within the logistics organisation at Euro Car Parts
  • Work with Senior Leaders within Logistics to formulate, plan and execute the HR and Business strategy
  • Deliver projects when required including change management, consultation process and resource alignment
  • Utilise generalist HR knowledge and skills when working with the wider HR team and senior management teams to support HR processes including disciplinaries and grievances
  • Ownership of all L&D activities. Deliver in-house training on an ad hoc basis on HR topics
  • Lead talent discussions and succession planning through the company’s performance and development programmes. Support leaders with the Talent Review Process
  • Monitor HR metrics such as absence and turnover, and report this information back to senior management. Use this information effective to make improvements and offer training to managers where needed
  • Work alongside shared service centres (payroll, HR) to ensure that all information is processed accurately
  • Analyse company metrics to get the root cause of any HR issues and identify best practice
  • Work with recruitment agencies, to manage a strict PSL for specialist requirements
  • Drive best on-boarding practice within the business, supporting the logistics team or divisional management teams
  • Work with the Payroll team to resolve relevant queries from the Logistics Team. Be the gate keeper of our internal HR system (ADP)
  • Work with our providers to identify opportunities to utilise the Apprenticeship Levy to maximise benefit to the organisation

Key Skills Required

  • Ability to carry yourself professionally at business partner level within a high-volume, fast paced and customer-focused environment
  • Problem solving and analytical capability; experience of managing and analysing HR metrics
  • Ability to lead challenging discussions with key stake holders and employees to find root causes and develop short, medium and long-term plans
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels
  • Hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to motivate others and influence work behaviour
  • Strong change management, negotiation and influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally both degree and CIPD qualified
  • Good understanding of MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel)
  • 5 years of experience in an Operational HR Environment
