As Head of Fleet, your role is to create and manage our UK and ROI group fleet services through strategic developments and enhancements, to ensure effective day to day running. You’ll be involved in fleet sector changes and initiatives in areas such as electric and alternative delivery method solutions, to help us as market leaders. This position will be a mix of home working and office. Majority will be home based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of administrators to deliver targets
  • Manage internal and external relationships to resolve company vehicle issues
  • Maximise vehicle utilisation and reduce hire requirements
  • Work with vehicle manufactures and other parent company members to leverage the best possible vehicle supply by combining European and worldwide requirements where possible
  • Develop and manage our fleet polices by creating and managing budgets with finance to ensure we’re maximising the balance between capex and opex
  • Manage vehicle related expenditure and invoice queries through to resolution
  • Manage fuel card process and bunkering
  • Develop and enhance our telematic solutions to ensure we’re receiving the best return on investment through driver scoring and un-authorised management along with enhancing our productivity
  • Ensure company policy is adhered to in the event of a vehicle accident
  • Develop and manage our grey fleet policies
  • Develop accident risk management initiatives working with key stakeholders such as health and safety and our insurance brokers
  • Manage our self-insurance solution working with legal, corporate and external providers to ensure we’re working to reduce our costs and risk
  • To be the lead contact for all fleet support spends
  • Work with internal teams to develop strategy and direction, identifying opportunities to enhance the fleet support activity
  • Overall management of suppliers, managing all aspects of the supply base and performance (cost, delivery, quality and risk) based on set KPIs
  • Working with key accounts, creating new supplier relationships to ensure the group is receiving an acceptable level of service
  • Manage the vehicle database to ensure accuracy of information
  • Manage staff and effectively train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor activities
  • Pursue personal skills and development where necessary for the effective performance.
