An exciting opportunity has become available within the Sports Facilities Administration team offering the right person the prospect to become part of the team and a professional career progression within the Sports and Fitness Industry. This is an amazing opportunity to join a friendly, energetic team, and to make your mark working within world class Sports Facilities within the University Sector.


Within the reception role you will play an integral part in the delivery of Professional sporting provision and customer services, working within the University sports facilities on a day to day basis supporting students, staff and the community. You will be an enthusiastic, professional, positive and creative individual, with excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. A commitment to supporting the University academic provision and student union in providing an excellent student experience as well as supporting other key stakeholders and partnerships.


What you’ll do – key duties

  • Be part of the Met Sport team of the campus sports facilities carrying out reception duties in line with operation procedures and be responsible for co-ordinating high levels of customer care and service delivery from the sports facilities reception areas.
  • Deal with customer enquires face to face and on the telephone
  • Have a good knowledge and keep up to date of the facilities programme and service provision
  • Use the electronic database and booking system – Gladstone MRM
  • Have a sound understanding of online booking procedures and to assist and advise customers with regards to on-line bookings enquiries and processes
  • Ensuring the safety of customers and coordinating and communicating in emergency situations.
  • To ensure the reception area is constantly neat and tidy thus projecting a professional image
  • Attend staff training

  • Experience of working within a sports environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective communication and time management skills
  • Ability to use computer system including Microsoft Office
  • A Good understanding of customer care and health and safety issues
  • Previous experience in a customer orientated environment

What you’ll have - essential qualifications

5 GCSE (A-C) or equivalent
