Buyer

Persimmon Homes Central has a vacancy for an experienced Buyer with an immediate start for the right candidate. This post will be based at our offices in Castle Bromwich. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

Negotiate and purchase materials with key suppliers within a multi site environment.
Produce cost analysis and ensure costing forecasts are adhered.
Raise purchasing orders.
Monitor suppliers and ensure performance targets are reviewed against KPI’s and SLAs.
Procurement lead on construction projects.
Scheduling materials, raising orders, cost analysis to expediting delivery.

This role is key within our Commercial department and you will be given the responsibility and accountability that goes with this position.

Qualifications/Experience

You will possess relevant experience and a proven track record preferably within the residential housing sector and able to show experience and knowledge of tendering and contracting policies to achieve best value.

5 x GCSE including Maths and English (or equivalent). Degree is preferable.

Ideally CIPS qualified but this not essential.

Skills

The role requires a confident, strong and experienced Buyer with proven negotiation skills, with the ability to be proactive in a fast-paced business environment. A real team player is required.

Attention to detail and communication skills will be vital in dealing with multiple site contractors to provide a first class supply chain environment.

Computer literacy on the MS suite is essential and experience of COINS is desirable.
