Fire Protection and Detection Systems Apprenticeship


Argus Fire
launched in 1982, remains a family-owned business. We are the UK’s class-leading supplier of fire detection and fire protection systems and remain one of the largest privately owned fire protection businesses in the UK. We design, install, and maintain all types of automatically operating fire extinguishing systems and electronically activated fire detection and alarm systems for large projects through to servicing small standalone products. We currently have over 200 employees and have offices based in Stourbridge (HQ), Manchester and London.

This apprenticeship, would give a grounding in all areas of Fire Protection and Detection Systems and allow you to work on projects in the various departments, using your communication, planning, digital and project skills.


You need a keen eye for detail, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic.


What do we offer an Apprentice?


Our two-year apprenticeship scheme based in our Stourbridge Office rotates through most of our departments including, Design, Projects, Special Risk, Sales & Estimating, Quantity Surveying and Electrical, giving an overall view of the business and then allowing for the apprentice to settle in one department, taking into consideration the needs of the business.


Attending South and City College Birmingham at the Bordesley Green Campus 1 day per week on the level 3 Construction Support Technician Course.


Argus Fire, places a great emphasis on growing our own talent and are committed to the development of our employees and expanding our business, alongside college we also offer industry specific and inhouse training.


Essential Skills


  • GSCE grade 5 or above in Maths and English
  • An interest in a career in general engineering/ construction
  • Certain roles will require you to gain a valid driving licence within the 2 years
  • A desire to work hard and succeed
  • Basic Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Good communication
  • A friendly and positive approach to work
  • Attention to detail

Starting Salary: £14,000 per year.Working hours 35 per week Monday to Friday, Full Training, Career Progression, Pension ( if eligible), 31 days Holiday inclusive of the bank holidays, in a friendly and supportive company.
