Role- Senior Buyer

Duration- 7 week contract starting Monday 6 th June to cover leave

Location- Kingswinford, West Midlands

Rate- £22-£24 per hour PAYE depending upon experience

We are currently recruiting a Senior Buyer for a 7 week period to cover leave. You will be responsible for ensuring the buying process runs smoothly whilst the permanent employee is off. This will involve dealing with suppliers on a day to day basis and negotiating where necessary.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be as followed:

• Communicate with suppliers effectively on a daily basis

Ensure the procurement process runs smoothly

Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify the senior management team of any possible obstacles to optimum efficiency

Negotiate terms with suppliers where necessary

Develop and implement policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce overall spend and increase productivity

Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks

Coordinate deliveries

Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities

Ensure processes are as environmentally friendly as possible

Comply with Health and Safety policies, procedures and practices at all time.

Achieve, maintain and improve on the required quality standards through work, process and technical awareness, improvement and innovation

Understand and maintain the required 5S and housekeeping processes and procedures

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills & experience:

Education/Qualification - Minimum:

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) preferred, in business related fields

A Levels required

CIPR membership desirable

Experience required:

Previous experience essential in manufacturing/logistic environment

Skills/Competencies:

• Customer facing skills essential, including good verbal and written communication skills.

Good time management.

Good Organisational and prioritisation skills

Able to handle pressure situations

Excellent negotiator

Good PC /Office skills

Experienced in EFACS manufacturing system

This will be a 7 week contract only, starting Monday 6 th June.
