Overview Of The Role

An opportunity has become available within the Total Cost of Ownership team within JCB Service, for a Business Development Manager (BDM). Bundled services such as extended warranty and maintenance agreements, are now commonplace in both the Construction and Agricultural Machine marketplace and represent a significant opportunity for us to drive customer support. In this role, the BDM will work strategically alongside key machinery sales regions to ensure JCB and their distributors are competitively positioned to provide the best possible ownership experience for the customer, through offering a range of extended warranty and maintenance agreements.

Your Responsibilities As a Business Development Manager

As Business Development Manager, your role will be to drive the growth of JCB’s Aftermarket Services, including Extended Warranty and Maintenance Contracts, to JCB’s Global Distributor network and Subsidiaries. Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Develop growth actions to increase JCB’s global extended warranty penetration.
  • Deliver on quarterly and annual revenue and penetration targets. You will Forecast, track and report sales activities to management on a regular basis.
  • Continually identify areas of opportunity and develop strategies to improve revenue and overall profitability.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of JCB and competitor product offerings, for both Machines and Services.
  • Improve JCB’s brand image by offering a range of industry leading products and services to JCB’s Subsidiaries and Dealer network.
  • Work closely alongside JCB’s Subsidiary and Dealer network, which will include regular interaction, to manage and motivate key stakeholders responsible for decision making.
About You

Taking ownership of a product which is key to the future success of our business demands a highly focussed individual with strong leadership skills who can embody the restless drive to make our business something to be proud of.

You’ll need a good understanding of extended warranty, maintenance contracts and the competitive landscape for these products in agriculture, construction, and industrial settings.

You will have experience in developing and leading customer support strategies via a dealer distribution network and enjoy communicating with customers and dealers alike.

Cooperating with other departments across our business, you will be an excellent communicator able to make technical information understandable while promoting packaged services as a defining factor in the future of our business. You will also need to be a good listener, able to understand the needs and concerns of our customers and make them a central focus in future product development.
  • Education: BA Business or similar.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
  • High levels of commercial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; written, verbal and listening.
  • Ability to effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
  • Ability to travel as required with the role, up to 30% of the time.
  • Field experience, working with dealers and distributors.
  • Experience working with other Construction or agricultural equipment manufacturers preferred.
