Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and driven BDM to specifically develop the Exhibitions sector for this superb venue in Coventry. This is a multi:space venue that can accommodate events from 10 to over 5000 people including meetings, conferences, trade show, Award Diner, live music, seminars, etc..

Key Responsibilities
  • As a specialist business development manager; you will be responsible for :
  • Develop the Exhibition segment and drive the sales to exceed targets as set by the Head of Sales and the Executive team.
  • Proactively identify, target, approach and secure new business in your specialist segment
Prepare presentation and proposal documentation and contract to demonstrate the values and services offered by the venue.

Responsible for the full cycle of the sales / business development in your sector (including chasing leads, meetings, negotiation and closure of the contract, follow:up)
  • Ensure that revenue is maximised and will set SLAs for each account to achieve and exceed budgets and target in line with the Company values
  • Retain existing key accounts and continue developing the segment through strong relationship management and networking
  • Constantly maintain an awareness of sales opportunities and share leads with the other specialist when needed.
  • Prepare monthly reports on activities and progress and ensure all the client/event/account information are up:to:date
  • Be an influential member of the commercial team and assist with the creation of market plans, strategies and forecasting for the future.
Candidate Profile
  • Current proactive sales / business development experience within Exhibition Centre / Conference and event venue, Hotel, Stadium or Catering/Hospitality related market
  • Proven record of successful business development and sales increase in the Exhibition Segment
  • Local Coventry / West Midlands knowledge and network
  • Solid new business development experience and strong commercial awareness
  • Self:motivated and passionate; persistent attitude when faced with obstacles
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to understand and analyse statistical data, creative and able to think out:of:the:box;
  • Hardworking, self:managed and prepared to take a hands on role;
  • Passionate about your industry and thrive in a fast:pace, target driven position
  • Fluent English; excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Computer literate with experience of working with Excel, Word and sales systems
