Role: Business Development Associate

Location: Hybrid (Wiltshire)

Salary: £25k + £4k Bonus

Would you like to join a closely knit, high-performing team working with Faculty and Library experts to sell award-winning primary source collections?

The opportunity

As a Business Development Associate you will account manage existing customers, drive new business opportunities, and support key accounts across the EMEA region. You will be working face-to-face with customers every day through virtual meetings and in person visits to universities and libraries. Your main responsibility will be developing and maintaining long-term relationships with faculty and library experts in order to promote our titles and to increase the EMEA customer base and revenue.

This is a new role within our UK-based EMEA Sales Team. This highly motivated team work together to share ideas and utilise their range of skills to achieve the Team’s collective goals. There are also regular opportunities to connect with our Global Sales Team colleagues, based in North America, East Asia and Australasia, enabling us to learn about their markets and experiences as well as our wider sales goals.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A genuine interest and an enthusiasm for the humanities, taking pleasure in speaking to experts in their field about their research and teaching
  • Be able to demonstrate, or quickly learn, consultative selling skills and enjoy providing an exceptional and efficient service to our customers, including the ability to manage a longer-period sales cycle involving multiple key stakeholders
  • Have exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to oversee and support a broad range of accounts across multiple countries
  • The ability to be proactive in seeking out new business opportunities, including those arising at conferences where you will be representing the company.
  • Effective communication skills are a must, with the capacity to build strong relationships and work efficiently with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will have a desire to work both as a team and an individual and a strong ambition to reach and exceed sales targets
