Microsoft Advertising (MSA) is a worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services organization on the cutting edge of the digital advertising industry. We are the engine that powers the buying and selling of digital advertising across all aspects of our digital portfolio including our high-growth search engine, Bing.

The Sales Excellence team is seeking a Business Analyst who will support our Global Strategic Sales team in driving key initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving data accuracy. This individual will need to interpret complex costumer scenarios and make decisions on how to apply business rules with an eye towards compliance. They will be responsible to communicate across our sales teams and partners to clarify requests, execute changes, manage expectations and ultimate land outcomes. There will also be opportunity to partner across the organization to drive process and tool improvements and support sales planning processes.

This role requires a strategic thinker and strong collaborator, with impeccable communication, planning, and execution skills. The role will own the book of business management for all of the Global Strategic sales organization and will partner closely across Field Sales Excellence and Global Operations teams.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Review and triage requests from Sales teams and perform due diligence to identify appropriate change processes for updates to be reflected in the system
  • Work with partner teams to clarify/approve requests where required
  • Process, track and validate change requests using relevant tools/processes
  • Consider second and third order effects and comprehend impact of changes on business reporting, sales team quota and compensation to ensure successful outcomes
  • Support key sales planning motions around the bi-annual set process, to ensure data accuracy for all partners involved in quota and book setting exercises
  • Partner with Global Operations and other sales segments on broader workstreams to prioritize and drive process and tool improvements

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in similar function, ideally with digital advertising experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel competency required (Vlookup, tables, filters, PivotTables, PowerPivot, etc.)
  • Knowledge/experience of Power BI is preferred but not a key requirement
  • Familiarity of analytical and reporting processes in a sales, service and / or marketing group
  • Project and/or program management experience. Ability to identify required resources/team members, drive a sense of common purpose and shared goals/vision, and deliver results as an outcome of ongoing or time-bound work.
  • Experience in sales and/or partnering with large sales teams and strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem
  • Versatile communicator, interacting on various professional audience levels to deliver written/oral communications across organizations in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Organizational agility. Ability to function effectively in a highly-matrixed work environment.
  • Strong self-discipline and time management abilities; multitasker capable of switching easily and constantly between strategic and tactical work
  • Decisive execution skills, an eye for detail, and action-oriented while maintaining good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
