In the Local & Regional Government team, we care deeply about supporting Devolved Government, Regional and Local Authorities to get the most out of the solutions they invest in. It is our responsibility to help Public Sector organisations in the UK to make better decisions that result in better care for the most vulnerable members of society. To do that, we need to help our customers become more productive, to get more from their data, and to digitize as many processes as possible. to free up time for their people to offer quality services, care and compassion to those citizens who need it the most. It is becoming increasingly important for us to support our customers in addressing this through cross-agency working at a regional level.

We are currently looking for a Strategic Regional Account Executive to lead on our work across the West Midlands Combined Authority region. WMCA is one of the largest devolved city regions in the UK, with a strong mayoral presence, and an ambitious plan for the future. The successful candidate will work with a cross industry team, with expertise in local government, health, policing, and education, to enable Microsoft to support WMCA in bringing these plans to life. Embracing a challenger mindset, the successful candidate will drive the strategic and political engagement in the region, building on and supporting the work that our account teams drive with their individual customers, to produce transformative business outcomes for the region. The ambitions for WMCA are significant and the opportunity to transform and make an impact here has never been greater. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead programmes alongside public and private sector organisations, represent Microsoft in regional forums and use your experience and knowledge of digital industry and potential, to lead and open conversations for the benefit of society in WMCA.

Responsibilities

Business Relationship Owner: You will be responsible for defining the strategic vision, engaging with political leadership, and leading the regional transformation with CxO level, Digital and Business Decision Makers (BDM), . This requires leadership skills and ability to challenge conventional thinking. Success will come through achieving our Customer’s success.
Team Mobiliser and Orchestrator: Mobilise the entire regional team and direct clear opportunity ownership in strong collaboration with our Partners.
Sales Leader and Operational Excellence: Achieve results by understanding digital transformation drivers and customer priorities. Identify new opportunities and help customers accelerate their move to the digital age for their own benefit as well as their customers. Delivering consistent, repeatable achievement of revenue and consumption targets
Sales Challenger: Continuously build industry and technical knowledge. Bring innovative industry solutions, benchmarks and references to C-level executives that drive greater efficiencies, optimization and increase customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with and leading virtual teams.
Extensive experience in Enterprise Sales, Business Consulting or Consultative Selling
Degree level education or equivalent experience.
Knowledge within Industry and ability to make confident recommendations to local political leaders, and C-level, business decision makers.
Desire to learn with a growth mindset
Public sector sales experience desirable
Knowledge of the region and political landscape desirable
