We have opportunities and roles available for proactive Delivery Analysts with a good attention to detail to join our Programme teams in two of our S&T delivery divisions

Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) Division delivers world leading, cutting edge, science and technology to the Ministry of Defence and other partners across Government. The type of projects range from longer-term scientific research to short-term advice in support of National Security issues.

Platform Systems (PLS) Division provides a single focus for platform-based capability covering all mission and weapons systems, ‘The science inside the Physical fighting force’ We understand: The threat and our own vulnerabilities, opponents vulnerabilities and our ability to defeat them, how to integrate S&T into complex military systems and how to work with Industry, Academia and International Partners

In the CBR position You will work closely with the Programme Managers and Division Programme Leads across 4 Programmes to include FWAHP, CBR Services, UPSTREAM Prevent and Protecting Our People to provide aggregation and analysis of Management Information to inform Division decision-making and performance-reporting and to provide awareness and assurance to senior management.

In the PLS position : You will be a key member of the Programme Delivery and Assurance Team, alongside another Delivery Analyst working closely with Programme Managers, Division Programme Leads across 8 Programmes including Above Water, Air, Autonomy, MfSA, Land, Strategic Systems, Underwater and Weapons to provide aggregation and analysis of Management Information to inform Division decision-making and performance-reporting and to provide awareness and assurance to senior management.

You will also work collaboratively, across functions and other Divisions in the development and understanding of their Division’s Business and to enable resilience of support. Creating and maintaining good working relationships with Project Managers, Management Accountant and Division DPR to ensure management information is up to date and accurate.

Job description

In this role you will be Leading and collaborating on:

• Aggregating and analysing Project and Programme delivery data – populating and utilising existing and future tools to provide an informed picture. Clarifying with Project Managers (PMs) and raising novel or contentious issues to Programme Managers (PgMs) and the Division Programme Leader (DPL)

• Identifying risks to Programme delivery by analysing aggregated management information, using data to inform risk management, progress or factors affecting delivery, financial variances and trend prediction. Enabling PgMs to understand likely impacts and make effective decisions. Contributing to corporate reports as appropriate.

• Monitoring and reporting progress of requirements through the Triage process e.g. timescales and customer statistics. Identifying and reporting trends and systemic issues

• Aggregating and analysing Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) data from Programmes and Projects

• Aggregating and analysing external supplier engagement data – identifying risks and issues relating to Commercial prioritisation, key supplier engagement, balance of internal/external delivery.

• Advising and supporting PM’s to ensure data captured in the corporate systems (e.g. SharePoint, triage etc.) is accurate and up to date

• Collation and reporting of Management Information (MI) to the Division Quarterly Briefing

• Creation of iCAS codes, TLPs and new Programmes.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong knowledge of data analytics and how to use analytical tools to generate powerful information and insight about business and delivery performance;

• A good understanding of Dstl’s business processes and the Portfolio, Programme and Project (P3) Principles, processes and best practice;

• A desire to provide quality and actionable information to leaders within the business;

• The ability to analyse business performance and delivery information to identify trends, root causes of issues and actionable intelligence about our business.

• The ability to communicate complex analytical results in a clear and concise manner.

This role will not include any line management or budget responsibilities.

You will posses good practical knowledge and application of MS Excel and SharePoint along with quantitative and qualitative tools and techniques.

Work location

Dstl is strongly encouraging blended and flexible working either at one of our sites or from home or both. We want to empower you to undertake your duties at the most appropriate location for the task, however you will be allocated a Dstl site as a base. You may be required to travel to other Dstl and MoD sites as required.
