Rheumatology Specialty management are recruiting for a permanent Biologics Coordinator for 22.5 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The role is currently based in the Treatment Centre, located at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham where you will be working alongside a small team of administrators and providing support to 10 Rheumatology consultants and a Professor of Rheumatology.

Main duties of the job

The duties of the Biologics Co-ordinator involve providing administrative support to the clinical staff providing treatment for Biologic patients.

  • Liaising with Homecare Teams, GP’s and patients to provide a seem-less link from hospital to the patients’ home.
  • Independently coordinate repeat and ongoing patient prescriptions; including for patients under homecare and healthcare services.
  • Liaise with specialist nurses, consultants and pharmacists, supplying information in the form of up to date bloods and latest clinic letters in order to obtain repeat prescriptions.
  • Acting independently, collaborate with all members of the multi-professional team to ensure efficient and effective services across primary and secondary care as well as with internal and external agencies are smooth

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing high standards of service in a customer/patient orientated environment
  • Working as a team member
  • Previous experience of working within an Administrative team
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working for the NHS or Healthcare environment
  • Experience using NHS systems - Medway PAS/ Notis / Winscribe

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ3 or equivalent.
  • Able to demonstrate a good standard of education together with administration experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft office programmes, produce excel spreadsheets and databases
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of medical terminology and experience in a health and social care environment would be beneficial
  • An understanding of the outpatient system including referral, booking and out-coming
