WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to join our HV Battery Engineering department. You will be responsible for the design, development and engineering sign off of all Jaguar Land Rover’s batteries. The department comprises a matrix organisation of designers, test, validation engineers and programme leaders.

As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will be responsible to perform a vital role in the battery engineering design maturation process, ensuring that the design team are all working in context and are aligned with programme assumptions.

The integration team will provide overall technical reporting for design progress toward virtual builds and test progress as stated in RMDV, along with the provision of control and documentation for build instrumentation, build deviation documentation, build process and manufacturing process documentation.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• 
  Responsible to achieve functional integration against the 5 pillars for the battery
• Responsible for the achievement of battery virtual build maturity to deliver QCWFT targets
• To resolve cross-functional issues across departments and CoC functions
• Ensure DV reporting status is maintained up to date for each programme
• Escalate and communicate issues and roadblocks for arbitration and suggest solutions within the battery, powertrain and the vehicle
• Compile and present major gateway status for integration and report to Vehicle and Powertrain Teams
• Manage project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation
• Support Lead Engineers in inputting to AIMS and drive closure in line with vehicle gateways

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

As an Integration Engineer, you will possess a strong understanding of battery, PHEV systems and electrical components. You will possess in-depth knowledge of engine manufacturing assembly approach and constraints.

The integration team will ensure integration against the 5 key pillars - geometrical, thermal, electrical, functional and safe.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• 
  Knowledge of battery and PHEV systems & electrical components
• In-depth knowledge of engine manufacturing assembly approach and constraints
• Good knowledge of component design principles
• In-depth knowledge of powertrain installation requirements
• Ability to provide strong and clear direction
• Strong capabilities in problem definition and problem-solving techniques
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience

Desirable:

• 
  Knowledge of battery and hybrid propulsion systems
• Good understanding of project management milestones and deliverables
• Extruded part and fastener experience
