This role offers abundant opportunities for skill development, making it ideal for nurses looking to broaden their knowledge in caring for high-risk adults with complex needs. We emphasize collaborative teamwork, with regular cross-functional meetings to foster continuous learning and professional growth within the team.Key Responsibilities - Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse:Provide interventions and support for individuals with complex needs as part of a recovery plan, including triage, assessment, controlled drug administration, and group facilitation.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and agencies to plan and deliver nursing care.Promote the health and well-being of clients while maintaining a safe, caring, and therapeutic environment.Strictly adhere to Forward’s policies and procedures related to service provision.Conduct initial health needs assessments, including mental health and substance use history and current use.Develop, implement, and evaluate care programs, ensuring individual patient needs are met and liaising with other agencies as needed.Competently perform urine/saliva testing, interpret results, and report any unexpected findings to the senior nurse.Participate in the facilitation of group activities.Conduct risk assessments, with a focus on safeguarding issues for adults/children.Administer vaccinations and perform DBST testing competently.Perform ECG/Fibroscans with provided training.What We Are Looking For - Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse:The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and qualities:Dedication to delivering high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to substance-dependent users.Ability to uphold high standards of nursing care and interventions.Demonstrated leadership qualities.Flexible and proactive approach to work.Commitment to providing exceptional care to our clients.Strong assessment skills, including risk assessment expertise.Ability to treat service users with respect and dignity, adopting a culturally sensitive approach.Knowledge of medication rounds and the safe storage and administration of medicines, including controlled drugs.Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nursing (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) with current UK Registration.The Forward Trust is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including those with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
