We are looking for an experienced Backend Data Developer to join our growing Systems & Data Team (SDT). Youll help us develop and extend our data available for our various web-based products. You will be involved in designing, building, testing and operating data models, working closely with direct colleagues in SDT and other product teams within the tech team.

Developingoptimized data structures and moving the appropriate data to the requiredlocations will enable Travel Chapter to provide staff, clients and owners agreat experience when using our systems.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Knowledge,skills and experience required:

  • Knowledge of the backend frameworks that is used by the company.
  • Understanding of front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, andJavaScript (to communicate with team members on the front-end).
  • Experience delivering backend data technologies for internal andexternal end users.

Essential:

Commercialexperience of:

  • Python
  • XML
  • JSON
  • DynamoDB
  • MS SQL Server 2019
  • MySQL
  • Understanding of AWS Frameworks
  • Documentation writing
  • Understanding of testing strategies
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Should also be available to provide out of hours support as and when required in line with the agreed SLAs

Work Location

  • We are offering flexibility in the choice of work location, with the option of remote working or working from our Bristol Office.
  • Should also be available to regularly travel to either our Bristol Office or HQ in Bideford subject to business needs.


WHAT WILL YOU BEDOING?

RoleResponsibilities;

  • Work closely with Delivery and Product teams to ensure the timelycompletion of projects.
  • Work with Senior Developers to improve our development tools, processes,technology stack, application performance and stability.
  • Implement technical projects to facilitate business efforts and goals.
  • Provide and support code reviews to improve the quality of developmentsreleased.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues to resolution ensuring thatmeasures are put in place where possible to stop reoccurrence.
  • Document new developments and update existing documentation withinconfluence.
  • Provide out of hours support as required in line with the organisationSLAs
