JOB MISSION:
New Balance are looking for an Associate Marketing Manager with experience in delivering multi-faceted projects, marketing campaigns & event activations to join our UK & Ireland team. You need to be someone who truly understands our consumer and can champion them at the heart of every touchpoint. Being a good communicator with strong organisational and multi-tasking skills are key for a winning candidate.

The purpose of this role is to support the trade and retail delivery across partnerships and wholesale marketing within the UK’s investments for of the London Marathon and running specialty and general trade. Working closely with UK Trade and Partnership Activations teams to create best in class delivery across the UK & Ireland.

Reporting directly into the UK Trade Marketing Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery of the operational work stream for London Marathon Expo & Retail as well as taking ownership for a mix of running and general trade marketing accounts.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support the activation of partnership activities to include:

  • Support of the London Marathon expo event as well as other event retail opportunities, focussing on the operational planning and delivery working closely across retail & third party agencies. Work in tandem with Marketing Activations to create best in class brand consumer experience
  • Evolve the Wholesale proposition from strategic direction, sales growth, opportunity and brand positioning. Working with key sales, marketing, product and retail teams to achieve growth in shoe count

Trade Marketing:

  • Create and present account specific pre-line and sell-in presentations
  • Obsess with the results through ROI reports, establishing objectives, budget spend and sell through target ahead of each activation
  • Create, coordinate and activate marketing plan to achieve ideal sell through rate
  • Coordinate/activate marketing plan with wholesale accounts and third-party teams (agencies/athletes/talents)

Budget Management:

  • Coordination of ongoing spend, tracking and ROI of marathon expo budget, working closely with retail teams to report & cross-charge spend
  • Work closely with Marketing Activations to ensure a seamless, efficiency spend journey
  • Plan and distribute trade marketing budget across account base
  • Continually monitor 3rd party costs, seeking cross-quotations and value always

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

Physical:

  • Lifting & moving of equipment
  • Standing for long hours on event build

Attainments:

  • Ability to follow strategic plan and have long term vision
  • Experience of management multi-faceted project
  • Cross business coordination of a large-scale project
  • Brand Marketing or Sports Marketing Experience
  • Large Scale events activation experience
  • Experience taking a project from concept through to delivery
  • Experience of managing relationships and 3rd party agencies
  • Experience in asset management
  • Experience in budget management and reporting
  • Experience in retail marketing
  • Customer ‘first’ understanding
