An exciting opportunity has presented itself to join the Cancer Services team as a full time Assistant MDT Co-Ordinator. We are looking for an outstanding team player, an individual with strong resilience who can work under pressure to tight deadlines. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, with the ability to multi-task under pressure and independently prioritise their workload, and who is really passionate about providing excellent service for our patients.Cancer Services provides a comprehensive service to our patients who are referred with suspected cancer as well as already diagnosed cases.Patients referred with suspected cancer are tracked and monitored through their diagnosis, treatment and follow ups. Some specialist services are provided by tertiary centre but these patients are still tracked and all our staff work to ensure that cancer targets are met.The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
  • Checking patients have received their first appointment and escalating breaches, following CWT National Guidance and identifying any data quality issues to the Cancer Services Management team.
  • Help manage multiple MDT inboxes across all services, preparing and distributing the MDT lists.
  • Assisting the MDT Coordinators to track the pathway of suspected cancer patients against the national monitoring standards (2ww, 28 day, 31 and 62 day targets).
  • Cross covering colleagues during periods of leave, also covering elements of the MDT Co-ordinator role as appropriate.
  • This will involve consultation with clinicians of different specialities to ensure that a high quality service is provided and national targets are met.
  • Although the role does not involve direct contact with patients, it involves working with sensitive patient data on a daily basis, and the candidate will therefore need to be fully aware of the importance of confidentiality and information governance.
