Sheridan Maine are working with a well-established, growing construction company based in Chichester. Due to ongoing success, there is an opening for an Assistant Management Accountant to join them. You will be looking after a portfolio of clients, primarily focusing on producing timely monthly management accounts and completing annual reports to a high-quality standard.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
    To assist in the year-end financial accounts and preparation of information for the auditors.
    Prepare and produce annual budgets.
    Oversee and review the cashbooks, bank accounts, and bank reconciliations.
    Maintain the purchase ledgers and ensure timely payment of invoices.
    Look after and maintain the sales ledger and account for debtors.
    Complete and maintain the VAT calculations and returns for review by Group Accountant.
    Prepare and produce monthly management accounts review by Group Accountant.
    Highlight and provide analysis of any variances or issues on the monthly management accounts including comparison from actual to budgets.
    Maintain and agree balance sheet reconciliations.
    Preparation of other management information.
    Maintain the fixed asset register and process monthly depreciation.
    Ensure VAT and Tax compliance.
    Liaise with the Property Management team
    Assist with any other duties as management requires from time to time.
Knowledge and skills required:
    Computerised Bookkeeping experience
    Microsoft Office - advanced Excel user
    AAT L4 qualified, looking to start ACCA
    Ability to work to deadlines with excellent time management skills
    Ability to work as part of a team
    Analytical mindset
    Resilient and tenacious, with particular attention to detail
Desirable Experience:
    Use of Great Plains accounting System
    Use of Xero accounting software
    Previous VAT experience
    Prior knowledge of working in a property investment company
