Being part of a large finance function you will be part of a team who have excellent moral and always deliver to a high standard. The role is busy and requires someone who has excellent analysis and mathematical skills to able to assist with the financial accounting process to senior management.

This post demands the ability to work in an organised manner, analysing data using strong excel skills to produce accurate and timely information.

Job Description

Duties and tasks of the Assistant Financial Accountant:

  • Produce accurate and reliable robust data sets for submission of returns to external contacts
  • Extra data and ensure data reconciles to control totals
  • Analyse data and investigate anomalies and trends
  • Produce various financial and statistical returns
  • Ensure all capital equipment is recorded within the fixed asset register
  • Identify and capitalise all equipment within the organisation and apply depreciation
  • Reconcile fixed asset records with the general ledger
  • Communicate with non financial staff and present data clearly
  • Involved in projects and produce reports to senior management
  • Liaise with internal and external audit

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be AAT Qualified or working towards ACA/ CCAB/ ACCA or similar
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate data (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data and produce reports
