The Finance & Accountancy Division at The One Group is currently exclusively partnering with a thriving manufacturing business based in Corby in recruiting an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial accounting records are maintained accurately.

As the Assistant Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Production of monthly nominal ledger - journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the production of monthly P&L and reporting
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Ensuring all additions and disposals are properly authorised and all depreciation is charged to the nominal ledger
  • Providing capital reports on completed projects
  • Preparing costings and maintain/updating bill of materials
  • Supporting other departments by providing analyses and reports when required
  • Providing support to other areas of finance and reporting when required by senior management team

As the Assistant Accountant, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Late stages of AAT or early ACCA / CIMA or similar
  • Experience of nominal ledger transactions
  • Manufacturing experience would be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of excel and ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail skills and problem solving
  • Ability to present complex information
  • Team player and both reactive and proactive approach
