About Your Role

As one of the largest manufacturers of construction equipment in Europe, JCB consumes over 175,000 tonnes of steel a year, which is cut, bent, welded & assembled to produce its signature yellow machines.

Lean manufacturing is a methodology that focuses on minimizing waste within manufacturing systems while simultaneously maximizing productivity. Waste is seen as anything that customers do not believe adds value and are not willing to pay for.

As a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprentice in Product Assembly you will work at one of JCB’s UK facilities, where you will develop the knowledge and practical skills to assemble, rectify and continuously improve JCB procedures and become a skilled JCB Assembly Operative; skills which are in high demand across the JCB Group.

At JCB we are always looking for a better way and being a Lean Manufacturing trainee will allow you to help implement change for the better, removing non value added work allowing us to streamline the processes in assembly. You will be able to record and help standardise this across the group, using Kaizen activity sheets.

Working with experienced JCB employees on some of the finest construction & agricultural equipment in the world, this scheme will start you on the road to a successful career in Product Assembly

Qualification

Level 2 Apprenticeship standard

About You

Minimum 4 GCSEs, or Equivalent, Including Maths & English at D/3 or Above.

Or

Minimum 2 Years Industry Experience
