We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Engineering Managerto join the Engineering Team based at our Workington Mill. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team.

Holmen Iggesund is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

About The Area Engineering Manager Role

We are seeking an Area Engineering Manager to join the Engineering Management Team. The Area Engineering Manager will run and develop the Pulp mill area engineering within budget frames, policies and overall objectives of the Mill.

Responsibilities Of Our Area Engineering Manager Include
  • Health and Safety.
  • Preventative maintenance and work order flow.
  • Promotion and facilitation of lean, problem solving and RCA activities.
  • Asset management and uptime of equipment.
  • Collaboration with other members of the engineering management team.
  • The incumbent will be part of the engineering duty rota.
What we’re looking for in ourArea Engineering Manager:
  • A minimum of HND (or equivalent) in Engineering, and/or vast experience in a management position (Engineering degree preferred).
In Addition To This, The Following Would Be Desirable
  • Excellent knowledge in maintenance and engineering management.
  • A good knowledge of pulp and paper processes.
  • Training in leadership and organisational development.
  • Training in Health and Safety (IOSH or equivalent).
