Technology Department (TD) is part of the National Laboratories organisation within STFC. It exists to provide technology, engineering and support to STFC’s current and future facilities and programmes.

We are looking for an exceptional administrator to join our Business Operations Group within the Technology Department. The individual will work in collaboration with Senior Staff across functions such as Project Management and Business Processes and Risk

The role will coordinate input and reporting on Risk Management and Governance for the Department, tasks which will require a proven background in Risk Assurance development, process and rollout.

The role will also manage the Technology Department’s Bid Process which may include elements of financial and risk assessment.

This is an outstanding role with plenty of autonomy, where you will be encouraged to make a real impact from the very beginning

The Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Management of TD Bid Register. Follow each bid through the process from inception to contract placement by using exceptional communication skills ensuring Departmental, Finance and Legal approvers are fully informed and each bid status is tracked until the bid becomes a project.
  • Preparation and scheduling of review meetings, ensuring all actions are follow up prior to approval.
  • Coordinating/advising/leading on Risk Management and Governance within TD
  • Coordinating TD contribution to the Risk Management agenda
  • Recommend/review TD Risk Management processes
  • Constantly review and escalate any new or changing risks that need to be considered for the corporate risk register
  • Manage the TD Business Continuity process, including Business Impact Assessments and testing robustness regularly
About You
  • Extensive administration experience in a middle manage capacity
  • Experience of managing or reporting risk
  • Experience of collaborative working with other Organisations
  • Familiar with embedding a risk management framework, including helping Project Managers to identify and control risks
  • Proven skills in administration, communication and interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Be able to demonstrate a record of change implementation/actions that you have personally introduced
