Senior Acoustic Consultant / Principal Acoustic Consultant / Associate Director Acoustics - Bolton

Wardell Armstrong’s acoustics team forms a constituent part of the acoustics and air quality service area. The team is located throughout the UK with a presence in Bolton, Newcastle upon Tyne, Leeds, Cardiff and Stoke on Trent. Our acousticians work on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and abroad.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking to grow our Acoustics team and we would be interested to hear from Acoustic consultants from Senior to Associate grades who are looking to progress their career. The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment of noise and vibration for various types of projects including building acoustics, residential development, infrastructure, commercial and mixed-use developments, health care, education, minerals, waste and renewable energy.

You will be responsible for managing and undertaking noise monitoring, noise modelling, building surveys and assessment work. You will be involved from the initial conception of a development scheme to the completion of the project, and your work will involve liaising with clients, design teams, employees across the company and third parties such as regulators and other consultants.

As our team continues to grow you will play an integral part in the management and development of junior members of the team, and you will be encouraged to develop business for yourself and the team. The Firm will support your own development and progression within the business.

You

We would like to invite applicants with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in acoustics. You will be familiar with the application of all relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and relevant guidance. It is essential that you are educated to degree level in a relevant degree such as Acoustic Engineering or equivalent, such as the Institute of Acoustics Diploma, and ideally be a Corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics.

For the post, you will possess excellent report writing skills and be proficient in the use of noise modelling software, such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA and INSUL. You will have good organisational and numerical skills with experience of managing your own workload.
