What do we do?

Situated in a state-of-the-art facility in Leicester, Bakkavor Desserts (previously Blueberry Foods), manufactures over 70 different desserts on site from cheesecakes and meringues right through to hot dessert products. The site has been in place since 2008 with two recent extensions in 2014 and 2018 to increase capability and product diversity.

The role

As an Accounts Assistant, your key focus will be to provide financial input to efficiency and effectiveness initiatives across the Leicester site.

In this busy and exciting post, you will work cross–functionally to support the project management process, evaluating benefits and providing post implementation reviews.

The role will ensure alignment to group reporting, processes, policies and controls along with the integration in to Bakkavor following a recent acquisition.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Continuous improvement of processes and control - identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes and controls.

Bakkavor integration - supporting the alignment to Bakkavor ways of working, standardisation of models and consistency of information including support for IT transition projects.

Support major customer development initiatives in operations - providing finance support for new products and / or new customers supply from the site.

Operational improvement plans – providing finance support for initiatives identified in operations to drive effectiveness and efficiency and so deliver incremental EBITDA.

Group / Sector requirements -representing the site in support of group and sector initiatives.

Site functional support - providing finance support for other functions such as Procurement & Technical with projects to drive incremental and favourable PPV.

About you

Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant with experience of a similar role which includes the management of projects varying in size – preferably within a manufacturing or food production setting.
