Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager based in Rochester:
- Generate leads and make active contact with potential new clients.
- Research and identify new business opportunities or new ways of reaching existing target clients.
- Attend networking events.
- Foster and develop relationships with a new portfolio of clients and advise on all aspects of their business to help them save tax, save time and create wealth.
- Manage a small team and assist with their training and development.
- Attend senior management meetings and report on the development progress of the new office, portfolio performance and actuals vs budgets for internal targets set.
- Ensure that the systems, processes, and core values intrinsic in the office are aligned with those of the firm as a whole.
- Always seeking new ways of improving the operational effectiveness of the business.
The successful candidate for the Business Development Manager based in Rochester,
- ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 5 years post qualification experience.
- Drive to seek and win new business.
- Energetic and ambitious.
- Someone who is a self-motivator, who is resilient and prepared to grind it out.
- Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients and staff.
- Team leadership experience.
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills required.
- A genuine interest in learning, not just in accountancy and tax but business in general.
- Good market salary.
- Company pension scheme - employer contributions 3% rising to 5% after 5 years.
- Share in management team annual bonuses.

- 20 days + bank holidays as annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year ( each holiday year completed) up to a maximum of 25 days + bank holidays.
