Here at Clipper Logistics, we’re looking for an experienced Warehouse First Line Managerfor our key customer John Lewis (Pre-Retail) and to be based at our Northampton site - NN4 5EL.

Clipper Logistics is now part of GXO, the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider and one of the leading retail fulfilment businesses in the UK.


Shift: 4 on 4 off ; 19:00 - 07:00

Salary: £26,500 pa


What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Oversee and manage the operational team to support Shift Managers in achieving set targets
  • Set, monitor and maintain KPIs and performance levels, ensuring that we’re always meeting or exceeding our SLAs
  • Promote the agreed vision and culture within the site by living the site values and vision
  • Driving improvement initiatives across the site
  • Create and maintain a positive team culture and spirit, encouraging involvement from all team members
  • Take responsibilities for Health and Safety and lead by example to ensure consistent compliance

What you need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in managing a large operational team in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • The ability to lead continuous improvement projects whilst demonstrating excellent planning skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of the warehousing process
  • Confidence in the use of a WMS systems and MS Office packages
  • The ability to effectively lead and manage a large team
  • Excellent communicator and an experience of handling employee relation issues
  • Knowledge of health & Safety requirements
