Our Scout Group is growing! We need adults who are keen to try new things and to have fun to join our team of Leaders, to help us provide fantastic opportunities to local young people. Our Leaders are people just like you, but working together they make extraordinary things happen by providing a wide range of activities on a weekly basis. These activities are based around a programme of progressive learning and achievement, ultimately leading to the young person being awarded the Queens Scout Award / Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. We are open to boys and girls from all faiths, backgrounds and abilities, and welcome everyone. What do you have to do? We meet weekly & are looking for someone to join our team of Leaders. If you can’t be there every week that’s OK, we understand and welcome you when you can come. Perhaps you could help us plan some of our fantastic activities or day trips instead. Whatever time you have to give, we can find a role for you that you will find rewarding. Contact us for more information or a non committal chat about how you could help. You need to enjoy working with children and have a good sense of humour. You need to have common sense and be open to learn and have new experiences. You will be required to undertake a DBS disclosure check prior to commencement of the appointment. Training opportunities can lead to recognised qualifications including; OCN Level 2, Providing Voluntary Youth Services and Foundation Degree in Working with Young People.

This is a practical role, so if you have experience working with young people and the outdoors or would like to gain it volunteering with Scouting is a great way to build your personal skills. You can build your CV while supporting young people in your local community.
