An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 nurses to join our Same Day Emergency Care Department at Southport District General Hospital.

Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) provides patients with emergency care to optimise their health and wellbeing, supporting them to return to where they call home and live as independently as possible.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and clinical skills within the clinical setting with support of our dedicated nursing team in Emergency care at Southport Hospital.

This opportunity, within the SDEC department will enhance your professional development through evidence-based practice alongside offering a programme of support in your induction and ongoing training.

You will be expected as a Band 5 registered nurse to deliver safe and effective care according to the NMC guidelines and also the trusts SCOPE values.
As a team we work closely with dedicated therapy staff to ensure patients are supported in their ongoing management and that their discharge is as smooth and safe as possible
We expect you to continually develop your professionalism by providing evidence based practice.

The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.

The main responsibilities of a staff nurse within the Same Day Evergency Care Department is to ensure that emergency care is delivered in a safe and effective way. To work closely with consultants, Emergency Department and therapy staff in order to deliver evidence based care. Ensure that the hospital/patient experience is good and that patients are treated with the upmost respect and dignity.

It is expected that the chosen candidate will work together with colleagues to deliver the trust values whilst working within the NMC code of conduct at all times.
