A busy Shipping & Freight Forwarding company require an experienced ’Manager with a sound knowledge of all Import and Export procedures and experienced in the use of Port Community Systems, Chief/CDS and other associated industrial platforms.

We are seeking a highly organized Shipping Manager to oversee our company’s expanding shipping operations.

You will be processing shipment orders, monitoring the completed transport orders, and evaluating the performance of carriers and shipment department employees etc.

To ensure success as a shipping manager, you should exhibit extensive knowledge of import and export customs procedures and logistics and have demonstrable experience in a similar role.

A first-class shipping manager will be someone whose shipping expertise translates into smooth and cost-effective shipping services.

Shipping Manager Responsibilities:

• Negotiating the price of shipment transportation with Transporters.
• Extensive knowledge in all Import and Export Customs procedures e.g.C88 documentation, CFSP, Import and Export customs entries.
• Keeping shipping operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency.
• Processing shipment documentation and inspecting completed orders to ensure accuracy prior to submission.
• Creating and implementing shipping policies and procedures.
• Hiring, training, and supervising shipping employees.
• Acting as a liaison between management and customer base were necessary.
• Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
• Documenting processes and reporting to management as required.
• Evaluating carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics.
• Complying to shipping industry regulations and company policies

Shipping Manager Requirements:

• Experience and extensive working knowledge in logistics, supply chain management and import / export customs procedures or similar preferred.
• More than five years’ experience in the shipping industry.
• Proficiency in electronic shipping software, such as Multifreight, Freightfax and Port Community Systems and associated software.
• In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation.
• Extensive budgeting and reporting experience.
• Knowledge of shipping industry regulations.
• Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate extensive import and export custom entry knowledge and have extensive experience working from the HMRC Tariff and associated customs policies and procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £27,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
