Senior Registered Children’s Home Manager (FT) / Operations Manager

Southport - Full-Time.

About the Job:

Location: Southport - Merseyside.

Job Title:Registered Manager (Ofsted Registered).

Service:
We are seeking a Registered Manager for our 3 bedded Children’s home.

Salary:
  • Earnings up to £55,000+ Bonuses.
  • Salary Depending on Experience (sliding scale) - £50,000 (1st time post) to £55,000 (5+ year’s Manager experience).

Bonus Scheme:
  • Un-capped, dependent on Ofsted rating, occupancy & financial performance.
  • Bonus scheme to be discussed at the interview stage.

Hours
:
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Generally, office hours; however, the service is 24/7/365 and there may be times when the manager is expected to work outside of office hours.

Essential Criteria:
  • QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare / Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People’s Workforce.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services in the children and young people’s residential management pathway (either obtained or willing to work towards).
  • Experience at the Manager / Deputy level, specifically within a residential home for children.

Experience previously working within Ofsted Regulated Residential Children’s Home’s is essential for this post. Or a deputy manager looking for a new challenge.

We are ideally looking for someone with experience managing an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ children’s home, but if you are a Deputy Manager who is ready to take a step up, we’d love to hear from you! You will need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent. Enthusiastic, resilient and good with people, you will have the autonomy to make key decisions.
A full UK driving license is necessary for this role.

You will have an annual base salary of between £50,000 - £55,000 dependent of experience, plus a registration allowance, and we know this can be a challenging work environment which is why we are also offering fantastic, incentivized bonuses.

As a Registered Manager you will have the following:
Full support will be provided for deputy managers who want to progress with a full management development programme in place and high levels of support and guidance will be provided.
  • The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire your staff team, and young people in your care.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, in addition to working closely alongside other external professionals.
  • The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
  • The skills required to lead and supervise your colleagues.
  • The confidence to make good decisions, based upon risk assessment and the needs of the children and your colleagues.
  • A sound and in-depth understanding of industry regulations and standards, including Ofsted, the SCCIF, CHR2015, Working Together to Safeguard 2018 etc.
  • The skills to work collaboratively with various multi agencies, such as Social Services, the NHS, the Police; in order to collaboratively engineer the best outcomes for our children.
  • The full support of a hugely experienced Responsible Individual and Director.
  • A huge amount of autonomy to make your own decisions, to have your say on recruitment, to contribute towards the statement of purpose and to have the final say on the admittance of any children.
