We are excited to offer this 8a (preceptorship available) position working 4 days per week leading psychology provision on Marina Ward, a 7-bed male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, and one day per week working in N-Step, an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.The ward role will primarily involve provision of consultation, team formulation and reflective practice, alongside individual and group-based support for the service users and staff support sessions. It is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in team working, complexity and psychosis. You will join a well established and respected psychology team consisting of three Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists and a CBT Therapist. You will be enthusiastic about working closely with teams to develop and share formulations, as well as individual therapeutic work with men.As a complementary addition to this post, the successful applicant will be employed for one day per week at the Northamptonshire Service for the Treatment of Early Psychosis. N-STEP is a multidisciplinary team working with 14-65 year olds presenting with a first episode of psychosis. The post holder will work alongside Clinical Psychologists and CBTp Therapists to deliver individual therapy. A proven interest in working with people experiencing psychosis would be an advantage and experience of working with complex presentations would be essential.Complex psychological assessments, formulations, short-term interventions and re-stabilisation work, groupwork, indirect work. Local MDT meetings, CPD with the psychology service, Trust-wide projects.Clinical supervision of staff, staff well-being, critical incident support, teaching and reflective practice for MDT colleagues. Psychology is well integrated into the multi-disciplinary team and there is a genuine sense of cohesion and joint decision-making throughout the service user’s admission.There is ample scope for systemic working, developing leadership competencies, and a growing strand of research including opportunities to support bids for funded research and doctoral supervision.We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about working in acute in-patients and demonstrate flexibility and transparency. You will need to be highly motivated and use psychological thinking for all relationship development. It is also essential that you are a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You will need to put the person at the centre of your work and focus on the co-production of their recovery journey in a compassionate and thoughtful manner.You would receive regular supervision from a Principal Clinical Psychologist at N-STEP. N-STEP often hosts DClinPsy trainees and has a good relationship with local researchers in psychosis.NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.A relocation package is available up to £8,000, if the successful post holder relocates to Northamptonshire and meets eligibility criteria. This is subject to approval.This permanent post benefits from a recruitment incentive of £5,000 pro rata for successful candidates over 2.5 years. Initial payment of £2,000 will be made in the 1st month with a subsequent payment of £2,000 made on the 13th month of employment. The remaining £1,000 will be paid out in the 18th month of employment.
