Our client is a successful and well-established manufacture based in the Gainsborough area. They are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team. Salary £45K-£48K depending on experience, with 25 days holiday per year. Hours of work are Monday
  • Friday, 8.30am
  • 5.00pm. Site Buyer
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide an efficient and cost effective Procurement service, ensuring that value for money is achieved.
  • Local Representative of the Group Purchasing Team, responsible for support and implementation of those sourcing categories lead by Central Purchasing into the local Business Unit, aligned with the Global Business Objectives.
  • Undertake the sourcing of materials and services at the right price, right time and right quality.
  • Ensure company procedures and standards are maintained as well as SOX requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers for all aspects of the procurement process; monitor supplier performance ensuring approved suppliers provide the highest level of service.
  • Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discounts and volume rebates.
  • Contractor evaluation and management skills, understanding of required documentation.
  • Ensure that all operational procurement activities are being conducted in the most cost efficient manner to reduce the number of orders being raised and transactions required.
  • Undertake Supplier Visits proactively and report findings to the Business.
  • Control and manage Operational and Capex spend currently administered by site Engineers.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings across all areas of site spend and benchmark with other sites.
  • Deliver targeted cost savings month on month and seek value added solutions with key suppliers.
  • Promote best Purchasing practice across the Business and manage the purchase to pay process effectively (p2p)
  • Awareness of Market forces and Supplier issues communicating effectively to the Business any cost and risk factors. Requirements:
  • Strong and proven negotiation skills, minimum 5 years’ experience as a Purchasing / Procurement / Buying Professional is essential.
  • CIPS Qualified or demonstrating working towards qualification.
  • Experience within an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) manufacturing environment, dealing with critical OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) Suppliers.
  • Required to work under pressure on a variety of projects, and deliver within agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven Stakeholder Management Skills and Change Management Skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent cross functional worker, influencer and communicator.
  • Enthusiastic and dynamic with a passion to achieve success.
  • Ability to work proactively and autonomously, demonstrate initiative and responsiveness.
  • Capacity to work within a Matrix Management Structure.
  • Remain flexible within the Business as required, travel within UK and Europe as required.
  • Extensive Microsoft skills and addition to SAP with the ability to produce and present statistical information.
  • As part of the M3 management team you will be required to prepare and report monthly to the business on savings and targets.
  • Reporting directly to the Lead Buyer for all Procurement activities and the Sales Manager Operationally
