The Role

Working as part of a global team, the Group Leader for E/E Architecture will define and develop Vehicle Hardware Architectures for two specific platforms to meet the key requirements of a demanding product development initiative. Key in this challenge will be to mentor your team to work cohesively with other Engineering Departments to meet the task in hand. The key deliverable being a to launch world beating product (OTIF) that exceeds all current and future technology challenges in the drive to achieve truly Digital Vehicle.

Your tasks will include:

• Development of a new Platform E/E Architecture

• Solving launch issues for other business units/car lines

• Lead the team to design, specification and evaluation of Electrical/Electronic architectures and network topologies to support current and future platforms

• Implementing department’s structure, E/E development processes like Function Release Steps and Functional Safety, Test & Validation

• Inspiring. mentoring and motivating all around about the necessity of Functional Safety and championing compliance to ISO 26262

• Evaluation of E/E architectures based on specific criteria (qualitative and tool based)

• Liaise, support and lead ESP and internal depts. during development, validation and launch phases

• Key window person and lead into external ESP organisation to ensure platform requirements met

The Person

A fluent English speaker, and Educated to Degree level in Electrical/ Electronic engineering, you will have a proven record of leading and developing Hardware architectures / systems for Automotive Vehicles. Having taken a complete vehicle electronic architecture from concept through to launch, you will have defined and delivered the complete E/E architecture. Critically you will have a reputation for doing this with the full engagements of your direct reports and peers.

Technically you will know the score, as such have a deep understanding of ISO26262, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Flex Ray and Ethernet networks, you will have experience with various exchange formats (LDF, DBC, FIBEX), AUTOSAR, SAE J1939 , ISO 11783 (ISOBUS).

Possessing least 8 years’ experience of managing Hardware Projects within the Automotive Industry you will now be ready for your next big challenge!
