This is a temporary post for 6 months, working full-time hours.

The Together Housing Group is a leading Housing Association based in the North of England.

We provide properties and community services from Blackburn to Hull looking after over 37,000 homes and actively improving the lives of over 50,000 residents. Our Grounds Maintenance teams provide generalist and specialist grounds maintenance services across our many outside spaces. We are looking for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our teams based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire to help us maintain and improve our outside spaces

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you’ll be part of a team responsible for carrying out grounds maintenance activities, keeping our areas clean and tidy, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest specification and that a quality service is provided. You ’ll also ensure that all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to and equipment is kept in a safe working condition.

Key Accountabilities
  • Grass cutting
  • Litter picking & waste removal
  • Hedge cutting
  • Shrub maintenance
  • Leaf clearing
  • Weed spraying (PA1 & PA6 Spraying Licence desirable)
  • Road gritting and snow clearing
  • Undertake all grounds maintenance works to specification achieving the highest standards at all times
  • Previous horticultural experience is preferred as is experience of working with the public.

You Will Need a Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

You should be a team player with good team working and communication skills and a “can do” approach. Any experience in using small petrol engine machinery (e.g. mowers, hedge cutters etc) is desirable.
