Our client is recruiting for an Electrically-biased Project Engineer. This will be a site-based role, on an extension & upgrade to an existing clean water facility, involving ceramic filtration. This is a long-term freelance position, that has been deemed Inside IR35.

With a positive, "can do" mindset, as Project Engineer you will be able to work with initiative whilst forming part of a successful team and report into the M&E Project Manager.


Candidate Prerequisites:
  • Experience in the water sector, IDEALLY CLEAN WATER
  • Knowledge of membrane systems
  • Demonstrable experience of working on/with: pumps/pipe systems, sludge, ozone generation systems, chemical dosing, water/wastewater treatment process equipment
  • Experience of 3D modelling for sub-contractor engagement, take off/review.
  • Knowledge of Reg 30 / WRAS



The Role:
  • Managing the interfaces and integration of the Electrical & ICA design with that of other disciplines.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the construction team to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and beyond
  • Develop various mechanical sub-contractor scopes for procurement
  • Review, evaluate and comment on sub-contractor tender returns
  • Commercial & technical negotiations with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Follow through sub-contractor packages to site delivery and potentially installation
  • Specify equipment requirements and standards
  • Review and manage to the construction programme, mitigate delays and work with the team to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ensure regulatory, legislative, HSE, company and end client standards are maintained throughout the delivery programme.
  • Ensure all sub-contractor engineering designs meet required standards.
  • Communicate and manage relationships both internal and external.
  • Work with the Project Team to produce and review project plans / programs.
  • To ensure the project is driven to provide the best value solutions, and delivered on time and within budgets.
  • Produce and maintain all required documentation to develop project O&M
  • Assist with the commissioning planning when required and to distribute with sub-contractors, include commissioning within sub-contractor scopes.

Rate is indicative and based on pay type and experience.
