Job description

Post Ref: CC586

Calderdale is a beautiful area in West Yorkshire, conveniently located between Leeds and Manchester, with unique natural landscapes, vibrant towns, a thriving cultural and arts scene and diverse and resilient communities.

If you’re looking for a challenging and varied role in a busy Development Management team, we’d like to hear from you. It’s a very exciting time to join the Council, with a newly adopted Local Plan and an ambitious capital programme.

We are looking for a Compliance and Site Investigation Officer to assist the team to deliver an effective and efficient planning enforcement service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual starting out their career in planning and looking to develop this further, or someone looking to make a move from other enforcement or investigation roles.

As part of this role, you will investigate enforcement complaints, monitor compliance with Legal Agreements, inspect minerals and waste sites to ensure compliance with planning permissions, and liaise with developers to ensure compliance with planning conditions.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated, and organised person. You will need to be a team player, with investigation and research skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The post will involve site inspections and therefore you will need to have a full UK driving licence and the mobility to travel the Borough.

Closing Date: 7th June 2023
