An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health Team at Calderdale Council as an Apprentice Project Support Officer. The team is responsible for protecting and improving the health of Calderdale’s population. To do this we provide a range of services, guidance and advice to the public and professionals.

You will develop a range of project support and administrative skills to contribute to and support the work of the Public Health team. You will also undertake training as required in order to achieve an NVQ level 3 qualification.

The role involves providing a professional point of contact for all enquiries to Public Health, supporting Public Health colleagues with event management, working with colleagues in the Public Health Team to collaborate and support each other and make improvements to current ways of working, supporting Public Health colleagues with contract management and a range of other tasks and functions as appropriate.

We require applicants to be accurate and organised, computer literate and have excellent communication skills a pleasant telephone manner and the ability to work both as part of a team or self-directed.

You will be fully supported on an apprenticeship course and will gain valuable work experience and a recognised qualification.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the start of their working career, or someone who is looking to develop a new set of skills.
