Accounts / Payroll clerk is required by a well-respected Accountancy Firm based in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

You will be an Accounts Assistant with experience in an Accountancy practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant looking for personal and career growth opportunities; allowing you to build upon your experience as part of a modern and dynamic team.

The Role & Responsibilities
  • Preparation of sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts
  • Liaising with clients and other professionals as required
  • Maintaining client’s records, preparation of VAT returns.
  • Other duties will include Bookkeeping, Payroll processing, Personal and Company Tax Returns.
  • To work on your own initiative & as part of a team.

Required Experience
  • You will have ideally worked within an accountancy practice, but this is not essential.
  • Previous practice experience of accounts preparation.
  • Previous experience of computerised accounts packages such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks etc preferred.
  • Possess Bookeeping abilities & Payroll processing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • A positive and proactive approach.
  • A pragmatic approach to resolving situations, using own initiative where appropriate.
  • MS office skills & generally computer literate.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
