37.5 hours full time Monday to Friday. Part time working can be considered.

An exciting new role within Worcestershire Community Equipment Service!

This Warehouse Supervisor role is for the specific management of specialist paediatric and adult equipment. This includes liaising with the clinical teams and maintaining positive communication to facilitate the management of specialist equipment and use of recycled stock.

We manage, deliver, and recycle equipment supporting the community of Worcestershire to live independently.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a caring attitude and want to help people. They may bring warehouse experience, stock management and supervisory however, a lack of warehouse experience can be compensated by experience of working with specialist paediatric and adult equipment in community health and/or social care settings.

Main duties of the job

  • Overseeing the work of the warehouse which supports storage, delivery, collection, decontamination, and servicing of paediatric and specialist equipment provided to individuals in the community.
  • Facilitate effective decontamination processes for returned equipment, managing the safe storage of specialist equipment within the warehouse.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with supplier reps and relevant clinical teams.
  • Liaise with the current contractors for the servicing and maintenance of equipment. Recording and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to weekly stock meetings and liaise with admin and procurement teams regarding purchasing requirements.
  • Be an active member of leadership team, ensuring high service standards and discusses service concerns and improvements.
  • Investigate incidents or complaints.
  • Undertake staff supervision and appraisals, assess training requirements, and manage performance.

Job Description Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor warehouse functions and all driver and warehouse staff on a daily basis, manage tasks, prioritise work streams and ensure standing operating procedures are adhered to, escalating areas of concern to the Warehouse and Information Manager, and Quality and Governance Facilitator.
  • Utilise and maintain the accuracy of the Business software.
  • Be responsible for supervising the return of all relinquished equipment received back.
  • Be responsible for overseeing and organising the work of driver/warehouse personnel in conjunction with the Senior Warehouse Operatives
  • Contribute to a secure safe and healthy working environment.
  • Be responsible for ensuring warehouse procedures and quality systems are appropriate to meet the needs of the service, auditing and making identified changes to improve

Qualifications

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

  • Level 3 qualification in Distribution, Warehousing and Storage or equivalent level of relevant experience
  • General education must be literate and numerate
  • Full Driving Licence
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

Desirable

  • Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel

Experience Essential

  • Working experience of warehouse and stock control procedures
  • Supervisory experience
  • Work as part of a team and sharing ideas and problem solving
  • Working knowledge of computerised stock control system

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a NHS, Social Care Wheelchair Service or Community Equipment Service.
  • Previous experience of working with patients (children and adults) with long-term health conditions requiring specialist equipment.
  • Previous experience of assembling, adjusting and managing specialist equipment

Knowledge Essential

  • Have an excellent understanding of Health and Safety within a work environment

Desirable

  • Knowledge of specialist equipment for children and adults

Skills & Abilities Essential

  • Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors and clinical teams.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be organisationally effective, with problem solving, and ability to deploy staff according to need while maintaining quality and lead time standards.
  • Able to demonstrate and teach duties/skills to new starters.
  • Able to apply the high levels of concentration required for the accurate inputting of data into the computerised stock control system.

Additional Criteria Essential

  • Prepared to undertake relevant training required to undertake the duties of the post.
  • Able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
