Warehouse Operative

27 hours per week - Wed - Sun 03:00 - 08:30
Must of held a driving license for 2 years + to be FLT trained

About the role

To support all aspects of the effective day to day operation in our warehouse location; the role involves the sorting, packing and returns of newspapers and magazines to our retail partners.

In this interesting and challenging role you will be responsible for:

  • Labelling and sorting of newspapers, magazines and parcels
  • Packing of all newspaper and magazine products using the tracking process
  • Loading and unloading of newspapers and magazines (using a forklift only if trained and authorised)
  • Ensuring a high standard of good housekeeping, health & safety, cleanliness and security
  • Tying/strapping of bundles as necessary
  • Achieving pack accuracy and cost targets
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy

About you

  • Demonstrable flexibility to undertake a variety of warehouse duties in a fast paced warehouse environment
  • Tenacious and effective approach to meeting and exceeding targets and delivering an outstanding client experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills including:
  • The ability to engage and build rapport with stakeholders
  • Communicating information in a clear and commercial manner
  • Adapting style and content for different audiences
  • Adaptable, positive and effective when working with ambiguity and changing commercial drivers
  • Able to work at pace whilst maintaining an accurate, high quality output
  • Highly organised with a well-developed approach to prioritisation

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within the logistics/distribution marketplace
