Warehouse Operative / FLT Driver

William Lamb Group is one of the UK’s biggest suppliers of footwear and bags in the UK. It is a family-owned business based in Wakefield, established in 1887 and they are now recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative.

You will organise picking & packing of customer deliveries. Prepare all associated paperwork required internally, for couriers and customers. Ensure the stocks in the warehouse are safely stacked, organised and correctly labelled.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Ensuring all tasks undertaken are completed following the companies H&S procedures.
  • Ensure all lifting follows manual handling guidelines.
  • Offloading containers and vehicles by hand or by forklift. Checking goods received correctly to the GRN.
  • Accurate stock checking/counting/preparation.
  • Prepare deliveries-out according to the pick noted provided.
  • Utilisation of customer IT systems for download of daily internet orders and subsequent picking/despatch and upkeep of customer IT system.
  • Pack single pair shoes order for courier delivery.
  • Prepare larger customer orders for delivery and label if required, palletise & wrap if required checking stocks loaded correctly to customer paperwork provided.
  • Book collections with couriers and organise the necessary paperwork.
  • Undertake movement of stocks within the warehouse in preparation inbound or outbound stock.
  • Provide assistance with re-work when required (Labelling, Re-packing, QC etc)
  • Assist in the preparation of labels for orders if time allows.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.

What you need:

  • Fork lift truck license
  • Experienced in inwards and outwards warehouse deliveries.
  • Experienced with the paperwork procedures on all dispatches and receipts.
  • Remedial work experience.
  • Manual handling experience
  • A good working knowledge of the following: MS Excel, Word
  • Minimum of GCSE Grade A*-C in Maths and English
