Due to continued success and growth they are looking to recruit a permanent Warehouse Manager.

Our client is an established distribution company in Leicester.



The Warehouse Manager role is responsible for the overall management and supervision of warehouse activities to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will oversee the warehouse operation through 4 direct reports.



Key Responsibilities:



Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss or damage.
Order Fulfilment:
  • Ensure accurate and timely order picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Coordinate order processing and prioritize orders based on urgency and customer requirements.
  • Track orders and shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Warehouse Organization:
  • Oversee the layout and organization of the warehouse for efficient space utilization.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations.
Staff Supervision:
  • Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
Equipment and Maintenance:
  • Ensure that warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks) is properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment maintenance and repairs.
Quality Control:
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and condition of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Investigate and address any discrepancies or customer complaints.
Budget Management:
  • Monitor and manage the warehouse budget, including labour, equipment, and supplies.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through continuous improvement.
Vendor Relations:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Coordinate the receipt of goods and report supplier performance.
Reporting:
  • Prepare and present weekly reports on warehouse performance, including service levels, order accuracy, OTIF and productivity
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including shipping and receiving documentation.

Working hours: Mon - Fri 8am-4pm, 37.5-hour week

The successful Warehouse Manager will have:
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a related role.
Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of ERP/WMS software and systems.
  • Clear understanding of the impact of KPI’s/service level.
  • In depth logistics procedures within domestic & international shipping.
Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and change management.
  • Ability to multi task, prioritize workload, manage deadlines and expectations of others.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels to ensure effective relationship building with other teams and challenge where appropriate
  • Strong attention to detail, with a right first time on time mentality.
  • Ability to motivate and train others.
  • Strong analysis skills, be able to review large sets of data and recommend best practices/improvements based on these results.

Benefits for the Warehouse Manager
Salary £32,000 - £34,000 per annum
Significant annual bonus available if targets are met (Non contractual)
