Our client, a leading global medical device company is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to join their team, based at their supply chain warehouse in Hereford. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, packing, and dispatch of a range of goods. The holder will manage people, processes, and systems in order to ensure goods are sourced, purchased, received, and dispatched appropriately, and that productivity targets are met. The company’s warehouses may store temperature-controlled products, such as specialist medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and hazardous materials, which the job holder will be required to manage within regulatory guidelines. Job holder to promote and adhere to the company values of quality and compliance with current legislation. Essential Job Functions
  • Liaise with global group companies, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure optimal performance in the movement of goods - using warehouse management software to track goods from origin to delivery
  • Plan and implement efficient goods receipt, packing, shipping, and dispatch - ensuring stock levels/batched items are proactively managed and monitored working with an experienced team.
  • Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
  • Working in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, and to Quality Assurance standards ISO9001 and ISO13485
  • Work with the group Pharmacist as the Deputy Responsible Person for medication product lines and pharmaceutical matters.
  • Ensure adherence to MHRA Wholesale Dealers License and Home Office Controlled Drugs License in line with the company’s good distribution practice (GDP) certification.
  • Oversee the correct receipt of goods including checks on all certification, sterilisation, and releases
  • Work across departments to resolve queries, input into new business opportunities, and implement new product lines & processes
  • Co-ordinate transport arrangements with the procurement department
  • Monitoring performance of suppliers
  • Managing the Export and Import of goods, including liaison with the Chamber of Commerce
  • Produce reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehousing operation contributes to these
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment
  • Input into department strategy for growth and efficiency
  • Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems
  • Guide the continual growth of the team, storage space, and SKUs in a way that maintains and improves performance
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely Qualifications
  • Experience in Supply Chain, particularly in Warehousing & logistics
  • Experience in Exporting products globally
  • Experience in managing staff and projects
  • Computer literate & experienced in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with ERP software, SAGE 200 or Dynamics 365 preferred
  • Forklift Qualification preferred but not essential
  • Experience of narrow isle Forklift preferred
  • UK Driving License
