Together, we accelerate the discovery, development and delivery of solutions that safeguard and improve human health.JOB SUMMARY:We are currently seeking a Vice President of Drug Discovery Western Markets (WM) who will be responsible for leading a diverse commercial team focused on equipment and consumables growth within U.S., Europe and Canada. Overall responsibility for revenue, margin, engagement and operating profit for the $70M Sales Divisions, which serve global market segments (Pharma, Biotech, CROs, Government and Academic). As the leader of the (WM) Team, this role has direct line responsibility for cross regional leadership team with a total associate population of 55 associates. This role will also require a high level of collaboration with other functional groups, including Marketing, Service, Human Resources, and Finance. An integral part of this role is the ability to balance strategy and tactics and foster creativity and innovation directed towards growing Molecular Devices customer delight, market share, revenue and profitability year over year.Key Responsibilities:- Execute annual growth targets to achieve corporate revenue goals and targets. Support and drive sales process improvement towards operational excellence and customer delight
- Create and lead strategic growth initiatives in line with corporate mission and vision. Collaborate with cross department business partners in deployment of joint strategic initiatives
- Utilize and promote Danaher Business System Tools to address process improvement, standard work and visual management
- Lead in building a funnel of market intelligence using tools such as business intelligence, market analysis data that can be utilized in strategy development, deployment of tactical plans and building organization/ team capability
- Take personal responsibility for own performance and professional development
- Champion engagement to build organizational and people capabilities; develop future leaders, build the bench with diverse talent; imports and exports talent
- Role model for Danaher values including our Diversity and Inclusion focus
- +10 years leadership experience managing a sales team or sales people leaders with ownership of revenue/profit delivery. Ideally 5+ years of commercial management >$40M successfully selling Imaging equipment into the life science or drug discovery industry.
- Experience with Microsoft applications, Salesforce.com, DOMO
- Bachelor Degree or higher in a related Life Sciences discipline
- Must be willing to travel 30%
