THIS IS A VOLUNTEER ROLE
Overview of role:
· To inspire, recruit and support people to volunteer their time, skills and energy to enable the delivery of our strategy.
· To ensure that the inter-relationship between the strategy themes is reinforced and brought to life.
· To support the development of existing and create new sustainable volunteering roles in response to local needs
· To foster a proactive, positive and engaging approach to volunteering encouraging initiative and welcoming innovation and change.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
OPERATIONAL COORDINATION
· Provide leadership for all staff within area of responsibility by displaying high standards, which reflect a professional corporate image.
· Contribute to and work within organisational objectives.
· Ensure that resource levels are monitored and maintained and are adequate to meet demand levels and profiles
· Monitor performance of workforce within area of responsibility
· Ensure full compliance with Service protocols/procedures.
· Respond as necessary to incidents that require supervision.
· Ensure that records are maintained.
· Ensure appropriate monitoring systems are in place, which allows first line managers to monitor adherence with all elements of organisational plans/objectives development plans etc.
· Address operational blockages in the system, which affects performance, advising the Head of Workforce and Development and the wider Senior Leadership Team
· Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery support
· Lead and contribute to project work as required.
IDENTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF VOLUNTEERNG ROLES TO SUPPORT ACTIVITY AND DELIVERY
· To lead on the development of sustainable volunteering roles at a local level
· To work with colleagues to develop volunteering roles
· In collaboration with the Service Delivery Teams to identify new local volunteering roles in response to the mapping of needs, services and gaps in the locality
· To develop creative and inspiring volunteer role descriptions
RECRUITENT, SELECTION, INDUCTION AND ON-GOING SUPPORT OF VOLUNTEERS
· To work with local staff and volunteers to identify needs, priorities and timescales for recruitment of volunteers
· To develop a local volunteer advertising and recruitment plan tailored to the needs of the locality including succession planning to ensure a sustainable approach to volunteering
· To support staff colleagues to manage volunteers effectively including recruitment, selection, induction, training and on-going support to volunteers
· To organise recruitment events or activities as required
· To respond to emails and telephone calls from or meeting face to face with prospective volunteers
· To identify the support needs of volunteers and ensure that appropriate adjustments are made to enable people with any disability or support need to volunteer and contribute to our work
· To ensure that induction, support, learning and development opportunities are tailored to the needs of groups and individuals
· To provide or oversee the provision of appropriate training, support, coaching and where needed supervision for volunteers and for staff involving volunteers
· To lead local reward and recognition activity in Volunteers Week
DEVELOPMENT OF PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABERATIVE ARRANGEMENTS TO SUPPORT LOCAL VOLUNTEERING DEVELOPMENT
· To identify and develop key relationships with local volunteer bureaux and volunteer recruitment organisations in order to identify opportunities for mutual support and development
· To identify opportunities to work in collaboration with others to develop new volunteer-led services and support in line with local priorities
Part-time hours: 10 per week
Job Types: Part-time, Volunteer
Salary: £1.00 per year
