Are you keen to join our retail team as a volunteer Retail Assistant? We are looking for individuals to join us who genuinely want to deliver excellent customer service to our many loyal and new customers. You will be working in our Louth Shop greeting and assisting customers, promoting the charity and assisting with the many back of store tasks. Your role could also include assisting customers with purchases, using the till and handling money. Part of your role will involve monitoring stock levels and working with the retail manager and other members of the team to identify stock needed to fully stock the shop floor. You may also be required to sort, price and display donated stock. This is a great opportunity to help The Butterfly Hospice Trust make the most of every donated item by offering a great experience to all all our customers. You will be given full training to enable you to complete all tasks competently. As a local charity for local people, we rely on our teams of volunteers to help us generate income for the charity.

All of our volunteers bring their own skills and experience to each volunteer role. For this particular role the following skill and/or qualification is required:
  • You will be required to work as part of a team
  • You will be dedicated to providing great customer service
  • You will be able to speak to customers, staff and other volunteers
  • You will be aware of the importance customer service
  • Good customer service skills, a professional manner and a smart, clean appearance are essential
  • You will be aware of the principles and values of the Butterfly Hospice
The charity offers a recruitment programme for all volunteers. This includes the following: Volunteer Application Form References Informal discussion about the role A trial period of 6 weeks to find out a bit more about the role Annual Review A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is not required for this role All volunteers are required to attend a short induction session. Training and ongoing support is provided for all roles.
