  • Make sure that meetings are properly minuted
  • Advise the rest of the Trustees and CEO on governance and compliance issues
  • Collaborate with other Trustees and the CEO on specific projects, programmes and grant applications, according to your interests and availability

The Trustee Board meets every few months, usually online. Spirit of Peace currently has four Trustees and a CEO.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of charity compliance issues
  • Timely and effective communication
  • Shares Spirit of Peace’s goals of promoting the flourishing of the Earth and all people
  • A relevant governance or charity law qualification is desirable

What difference will you make?

Now the charity seeks to renew and extend its work, and needs strong support from a Board of Trustees with relevant specialist competencies and responsibilities. The Governance Trustee would bring new experience to the Board and help the charity to place and maintain itself on a firm footing, enabling both new and existing programmes to run smoothly. Programmes include Kingian Nonviolence Training, Arts at the Intersection (cultural sharing between majority and minority communities), community cohesion work, and new work, initially in Kent, working towards the flourishing of the Earth alongside Human flourishing. Spirit of Peace has many strong long-term partnerships with UK and overseas partners.
